ECU Calibration & Tuning — AMG M177 / M178

Specialized calibration program for Aston Martin platforms powered by the 4.0 L twin-turbo V8 (M177 wet-sump / M178 dry-sump). Designed to deliver controlled performance gains with reliability, data-driven validation, and on-road refinement.

Scope of work

  • Custom ECU mapping of boost, ignition, fueling, torque model.
  • Integration of hybrid torque profiles and transient response strategies.
  • Calibration of cold-start, drivability, emissions routines.
  • Support for hardware upgrades: intake, exhaust, turbos, fueling, intercoolers.

Methodology

  • Chassis dyno + in-vehicle logging for accurate data acquisition.
  • Iterative tuning with monitored safety thresholds (knock, AFR, EGT, rail pressure).
  • Bench flashing & module programming via OEM protocols.
  • Optional: torque reserve optimization, ZF 8HP transmission calibration, race fuel maps.

Deliverables

  • Final ECU calibration tailored to the customer’s configuration.
  • Dyno report with before/after performance curves.
  • Documentation of safe operating ranges and recommended service intervals.
